Product Design Drawing

This Machine Example Is Of An Extruded Plastic Sheet Dual Roller. It would roll two sheets of plastic up to 6 Feet, about 2 meters in diameter.

The many Innovative Designs From DEVCO Included Improvements & Cost Reductions all across the process from Raw Stock Selection, Cut & Prep, Welding, Machining, Prep & Paint and Assembly. As well many changes in their basic design practices like using lower weight, less costly Rectangular Steel Tube instead of structural steel I-Beams that proved to Save Time With Simplified Joints and Allows For Internal Cable & Line Runs and Even Low Pressure Air & Fluid Chambers.

Cover Panels; Slotted The Mounting Holes So The Screws Could Go In First To Hold The Steel Covers To Allow Only One Man To Put On And The Screws Stayed In And Just Loosened For A Much Easier Cover Removal

Rear Panel; Changed To Punched Louvers For Air Flow From A Weld-On Diamond Mesh To Cut Costs And Keep The Motor & Chain Inside Much Cleaner

Blower Mounts; Changed To Tube Stock To Resist Vibration And Allow The Wiring Harness To Run Inside With Quick Connects At Each Blower For Easier Replacement

Idler Roller Mount; Changed To Tube Stock And Designed The Two Idlers Into One Module For Easier Assembly And Break-Down For Shipping And Maintenance

Idler Roller Alignment; Added A Three Screw Yoke Design To Replace Shims For A Much Stronger, Easier And Individual Roller Alignment With 360 Degree Adjustability

Air Lines; Changed Routing Of Air Control Lines To Easily Installed Sub-Assemblies As Well Added A Much Cleaner Appearance And Removed All Tripping Hazards

Access Step; Added A Readily Available Step And Hand Hold Into The Idler Roller Mount After Seeing They Needed To Find A Stool For Access To Load The Plastic Sheets

Control Panels; Added Pre-Made Wiring Harnesses And Cable Assemblies And Changed To Internal Wiring For Cost Reduction And A Much Cleaner Appearance

DEVCO Improvements Also Included Designing a one part one mounting position chain drive tension idler that could be adjusted for either a left or right drive system, a 90 degree gear box so the drive motor could be stood up instead of sticking out the back to reduce the foot print and save on mounting material as well the obvious changes like adding an angle to the cover to cut material cost and for cleaner esthetics and a more visible company logo application area.
