The Sportnav Loran Navigator for Micrologic, Inc was the first such design of its kind "This Design has Lead The Way for Style and was The First Hand Held Water Proof Enclosure of it's type". This Product was also used by the Military Forces In Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm and has become an industry copied model for similar designs since.

Two Marine Patrols were saved from enemy hands, when this device lead their units back to base camp. In their letter it was mentioned, getting lost easily in the desert, had they gone over one wrong hill of sand they would have walked into enemy strong holds. Pilot and Leader of a Helicopter Squadron e-mailed us his thanks, using one of these devices to confirm position. His choppers where only equipped with GPS systems and given that at the onset of Desert Storm, GPS was still in its' infancy and had only about 6 hours each day of availability, this device became vital for reliable navigation in these operations on land and in the air. |
