The Custom Product Design for Micrologic, Inc in Chatsworth California began as a six month assignment for Drafting Support but responsibilities soon grew to New Product Design and Manufacturing Support Engineering as their Mechanical Engineering Manager for almost ten years.

Micrologic, Inc had been producing Loran and GPS Navigational Computers for commercial and military applications as an American Manufacture for almost fifteen years and needed an electromechanical design drafter to help their mechanical engineer. Once Bill Dougello, Engineering Manager, fully realized that David DeVeau owner and founder of DEVCO Design & Development, Corp. had a unique ability for Design and Manufacturing Support, Bill expanded David's contract to full time employment and responsibilities to include leading mechanical engineering and manufacturing and after two years David was promoted to Micrologic's Mechanical Engineering Manager in charge of new product designs and manufacturing, working directly for the company CEO and Founder Dr. Cal Culver and the Company President David Caldwell. Also during this time Micrologic moved to a larger building and David DeVeau was put in charge of the new floor plan design and construction contracting that resulted in an extremely efficient manufacturing versatility.

David has said that this was by far one of his greatest experiences and although his own business took on a low priority for almost a decade and Micrologic has since sold the company due mainly to it's founder and CEO taking his retirement, this opportunity was an invaluable education in custom product design and granted almost unlimited opportunities to develop many firsts in the relatively new, at the time, electronics industry from concept through production and even in marketing support.
